SPX Showcases Food and Beverage Processing Solutions at Industry Trade Show in Melbourne, Australia

The SPX Food and Beverage team in Australia attended the 2014 FoodPro Exhibition at Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, June 22–25, 2014.  Traditionally held in Sydney, this year the triennial Food and Beverage Industry trade show, “Food Pro,” was hosted in Melbourne, Victoria for the first time.  Reflecting the growth of the food processing industry in the region, the exhibition was completely sold out.

With more than 300 delegates and 9,000 visitors, this was the largest and most successful FoodPro to date. More than 60 percent of attendees over the four days of exhibition were from Melbourne. For more information on show statistics view the Post Show Report

This year, FoodPro featured the Food Leaders Roundtable Forum -- “From Mining Boom to Food Boom – a Reality” – during which industry leaders from the public and private sector, as well as farming representatives and economists, debated of whether Australia could one-day become the “food bowl of Asia.”

SPX Exhibits Seital and APV Technologies

On display at SPX’s booth, a Seital Separator from SPX Santorso, Italy and an APV Cavitator from the SPX Innovation Center in Silkeborg attracted attendees, contributing to the more than 70 potential customer leads from all key industries, including dairy, brewery, beverage, wine and juice. The APV W+35/35 Pump sparked such strong interest from Malcom Thomson Pumps of Perth, W.A., that the company purchased the technology right off the stand.

SPX additionally showcased APV Cut Away Valves, a Waukesha Cherry-Burrell U2 030 Pump and a Bran+Luebbe ProCam Metering Pump.

In additional to traditional customer interactions, the SPX booth yielded valuable insights into unusual industry processes involving tofu, milk formula and specialized egg products.
