SPX FLOW Power and Energy recently moved its large valve production into a newly expanded facility in Houston, Texas.
The new facility will support assembly, painting and testing of small and large valves. Once fully functional, the facility also will support the shipping of finished valve products.
The increased capacity in Houston will benefit customers due to reduced lead times, with production expected to ramp up towards the end of 2015. The installation of six overhead and semi-gantry cranes, one large shot blast booth, and two large paint booths will increase throughput of large valves through the facility.
In 2016, SPX FLOW anticipates adding the assembly of small valves to this facility, which also features drive through shipping.
To further support increased production, SPX FLOW is planning to complete enhancements to roadways to support the new building and campus, and transition the facility from a private water well and sewage system to a Municipal Utility District.
