SPX Receives CSR Award in China

SPX in China was recently presented with a 2012 Good Enterprise Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Award by five associations: China Association of Enterprises with Foreign Investment, China Foundation of Consumer Protection, China Association of Private Economy Study, China Forum of Environmental Journalists, and the Organization Committee for the China CSR Award. The Ministry of Commerce of China also participated in the selection process.

SPX was one of just 100 organizations recognized for corporate citizenship by an esteemed panel of judges from an original field of more than 1,000 domestic and global enterprises.

This most recent award builds on the China Multinational Corporations Contribution Award that SPX received in 2010 from the China Enterprise News Office and CSR Research Center of Chinese Enterprises, which recognized the company for making outstanding contributions to China's economic, social and environment progress. For example, SPX has long been a sponsor of “Shanghai Sunrise,” a program that helps underprivileged students and their families by alleviating their educational expenses.

SPX has had a presence in China since 1994 and today employs approximately 1,700 employees across the country. SPX’s other past CSR activities in China have included donating electric heaters to the elderly and disabled and raising funds for victims of the Wen Chuan earthquake.

In China, SPX solutions play a vital role in energy infrastructure expansion to help meet increased demand for electricity, and in helping food and beverage producers increase their capacity to deliver greater quantities of safe, high quality products.
