SPX Valves Cuts Costs for Greek-style Yogurt Maker

Greek yogurt has become a hot seller in U.S. grocery stores. When the owners of one maker wanted to grow their business, they turned to SPX to keep costs down on a second set of pasteurizing tanks.

Inspired by yogurts discovered in Australia, Wallaby Yogurt is a family-run business that manufacturers a variety of organic yogurt, kefir and sour cream foods from its facility in Napa Valley, California. It makes products with distinct flavors and textures with a mission to deliver “outstanding yogurt of the highest quality.” They selected the latest SPX Waukesha Cherry-Burrell mix proof valves for use on their Greek yogurt processing line, which allows safe separation of dairy product from the system’s cleaning fluids.

The W75CP2 valves were able to eliminate the need for two different sets of valves for product flow and cleaning-in-place routing. Having a single set of valves reduced the company's installation, operation and maintenance costs.
