The Raven 3850 Series Mixer Drive represents the pinnacle of industrial mixing technology. Designed by Philadelphia Mixing Solutions, it offers unmatched durability, precision, and efficiency for applications ranging from chemical processing to wastewater management. The advanced features, including a piloted C-face motor mount and precision-engineered gears, ensure reliable performance even in the most challenging environments.

  • Piloted C-Face Motor Mount Design: Eliminates foot-mounted alignment issues, enhancing stability and longevity.
  • Precision Bearings: Oversized tapered roller bearings effectively handle high shock and overhung loads while increasing the life of the gearbox.
  • Gear System: Carburized and ground helical gears ensure smooth, quiet operation with superior shock load capacity. All helical pinion and gears are designed with tip and root relieve as well as crowning to avoid tooth contact pattern edge loading
  • Durable Mixer Housing: Closed-grain cast iron construction with inspection windows for easy maintenance and extra heavy duty gussets to minimize housing deflections from high cantilevered bending loads. External gussets also increase the thermal rating of each drive size
  • Drywell Design: Oil on the ground is both a safety and environmental risk. A non-contacting mechanical drywell prevents oil leaks at the output shaft, ensuring cleaner operation and reduced maintenance.
  • Input Shaft Sleeve:  All input shafts include hardened replaceable sleeve to extend input shaft oil seal life.
  • Output Shaft: The Output Shaft of the RAVEN drive sizes 3853M-3861M is centered using a lower taper collar assembly to minimize both pilot and coupling face runout on the output shaft. The RAVEN drive also has solid output shaft configurations for special applications.  The RAVEN size 3863M comes standard with a solid output shaft.
  • Guardian Package: Facilitates simple, accurate oil sampling to minimize wear and reduce repair costs.
  • Fully Straddled Pinions:  All helical pinions are supported on both ends with bearings to minimize shaft deflection from operating loads to guarantee proper gear tooth patterns.
  • Raised Gasket Surfaces: Water in the oil is the #1 killer of gearbox life. With all gasket surfaces on raise bosses this eliminates any water wicking from pooled rain water on the gearbox housing through a gasket.
  • Lubrication at Theorical zero rpm: Thanks to dip lubrication design the RAVEN gearbox will be lubricated rotating at low input speeds eliminating the need for an external lubrication system. Less parts means less chance of failure while making this gearbox a great choice when a Variable Frequency Drive is installed.
  • Oil Sump: Designed to funnel foreign particulate away from gearing and bearing meshes instead of through them!
