Kombinator® 250 - Scraped Surface Heat Exchangers

The Gerstenberg Schröder Kombinator® 250 Scraped Surface Heat Exchanger is a high-pressure SSHE designed for the crystallization and cooling of edible fats and oils, including margarine, shortening and other yellow fat applications. It combines stable product performance with low energy use and offers future-ready CO₂ refrigeration compatibility. Depending on configuration, it supports capacities up to 16,000 kg/h for shortening.

Kombinator is one of the first Scraped Surface Heat Exchangers (SSHE) for margarine and shortening in the market and with the actual design-update remains the benchmark for long-term reliability, energy efficiency and flexibility.

CO₂ refrigeration is supported by the new Kombinator 250 CO₂ design. Existing SSHEs cannot be retrofitted and would require replacement to use CO₂.
